Sanctuary Care

This group is managed by Kathy Richards

The Sanctuary Care team helps to keep the sanctuary ready for worship by changing the paraments (Altar clothes), keeping the linens clean, designing and/or sewing seasonal banners, among other activities. Current team members include:

Meeting minutes from February 8, 2012:

Alyssa Burkhart joined the Sanctuary Care Team meeting, so we each explained our roles on the Team as follows:

Becky: bakes the communion bread, monitors the supply of wine, grape juice, and wafers for communion, maintains the communion linens

Sharon: makes the floral arrangements for the altar, makes the advent wreath, has made banners

Banners: Becky and Kathy organized and labeled the banners by

seasonal usage. All banners are hung in the closet in the sacristy.

Becky will update the banner notebook with photos of the banners not already included in the book. Kathy will dispose of (burn) two banners that are no longer needed, and Becky will take another banner to Valueland (a Christian organization) to see if they know of a charity that might like the banner.

Paraments: Bonnie will change the paraments for Thanksgiving week.

Martin Luther Chapel now has a Chapel Manager, Debbie  is in full swing and doing a great job.

I am wondering if any of you would be willing to help out at the Homecoming Tailgate Event on October 21, Friday Night from 5:30 - 7:30 or 8:00 pm (depending on the length of the Homecoming Parade that goes right in front of the Chapel on Abbot Road.)

If you are willing please contact Dian: 420-3124 or Rebecca Armstrong: 351-3143 and we can tell you what ways you can help, as little or as much as you want.

NEXT MEETING:  WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16 AT 6:15

Chapel upkeep: until new chapel managers are selected, Dian and Pastor Dave would welcome anyone who would like to help make sure the chapel is ready inside and out for Sunday worship.  Now that school is back in session, there is a lot of outdoor clean-up needed after Saturday nights.
